THE DREW HENRY
THE DREW HENRY
Entrepreneur | Copywriter | Architecture Aficionado
Oh ya…and retired influencer
Drew Henry began his journey into entrepreneurship and writing in 2020 when he fell into a dumpster fire and decided to stop, drop, and roll his way into freelance copywriting. He founded Drew Henry Writes, a boutique copywriting agency staffed by the various voices in his head. After making more money in six months than he ever did in a 9-to-5 job, he realized corporate America was a farce and that HR director didn’t deserve him anyway. By 2022, he assembled his own army of freelancers, and they cooked up a scheme to serve the tastiest content on the internet. Eat It Up Marketing was born, and the puns flowed faster than champagne at a bachelorette party in Nashville (or Gatsby’s West Egg mansion if you needed a more literary reference).
Of course, Drew’s career didn’t start with the onset of a global pandemic. It began with something much more sinister…Instagram influencing. He launched the Design Dude’s Blog in 2016, when our feeds were painstakingly filtered through a lens of curated authenticity shown in the best possible light. Taking a casual, every-man approach, Design Dude’s covered all the latest home, food, and lifestyle trends every modern dude (and dudette) should try. Drew partnered with national brands, including West Elm, Taco Cabana, Shake Shack, Omni Hotels, Francis Coppola Wine, IKEA, and Applebee’s. (You know you want a mozzarella stick right about now.) He hung up his #sponsored influencing hat in 2021 for an early retirement.
Drew has been featured for his expert opinion on marketing, entrepreneurship, design trends, and pop culture topics in publications, including Apartment Therapy, Realtor.com, Reader’s Digest, Better Homes and Gardens, SA Current, Fox29, and Visit San Antonio. He’s been a contributing writer to Home Design & Decor, Rio, and other local magazines since the invention of the printing press or shortly thereafter.
During his (nonexistent) free time, Drew works on three books, including a self-help guide to freelancing, a story about a murderous LA actor, and a novel that his lawyers state has no relation to the plot of Mama Mia.
When he’s not writing, Drew’s mind provides commentary on every situation around him, like the doodle from Lizzie McGuire. He likes pina coladas but not getting caught in the rain. He enjoys binge-watching Netflix for hours, surprising himself with online deliveries, taking out his frustrations at the gym, and posing for photos at the trendiest restaurant openings (sometimes, he even tries the food). He formally apologizes now for being a Gemini, recognizing the error of his ways and striving to do better in the future.
Drew wrote this bio himself in the third person, meeting an accepted standard of formal writing conventions and creating an air of self-importance. He currently resides in San Antonio, Texas, but frequently travels to the dark corners of his mind.
